Vacancy: Producer/Director

The Programming Department of TV3 has an immediate opening for a Producer/Director. The following is a summary of the primary requirements of the job but does not outline all the duties and responsibilities for this position.
• Directing and producing a range of on & off-air content for TV3 Productions. These include Magazine-Style Programmes, Factual/Entertainment Documentaries, News Features, and Current Affairs.
• Must have previous experience in producing and directing professional quality programming for a terrestrial broadcaster.
• Must have ability to direct the following: single camera, edit sessions, graphics sessions, audio mixing and voice over sessions.
• Must have an understanding of TV3’s presentation style.

• Must have the ability to work as part of a team and to edit.

• Must have a flexible approach to working unsociable hours if needed.
• Must have a very high attention to detail and accuracy, and will ideally have a relevant NCEA Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have AVID Media Composer experience.
• Must have experience shooting on DV or Beta cameras.

Vacancy: Junior Transmission Controller

Setanta Transmissions provides transmission services for the Setanta Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, Africa, and Pay-Per-View sports television channels. A number of vacancies have arisen for the position of Junior Transmission Controller (JTC).
Duties include:
• Operation of Automation Presentation Systems.
• Construction and detailed meticulous checking of daily Playlist Schedules.
• Quality control of incoming live and taped programming.
• Recording incoming feeds to Video Servers.
• Vision Mixing of live sports programming.
• Correct positioning of on-screen graphics.
• Timecode Logging of recorded programming.
• Dubbing programming material from Video Server to DigiBeta tape.
• Audio and Video Monitoring to the highest standards.
• Providing timely feedback to Programming and Scheduling departments.
The successful candidate must be computer literate, numerate and have excellent attention to detail. At least one year’s experience in a related environment (MCR, Dubbing, Editing) is essential. Knowledge and understanding of major tape formats and digital TV standards is desirable.
Setanta Transmissions Limited operates a 24/7/365 day a year and shift based staffing system applies. Working hours will be shift-based and will include, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. The successful candidate will need to be calm, flexible and have the ability to work well under pressure. They should have the capacity to quickly adapt to new systems and be methodical and fast at problem solving.
